In Attendance
In-person today we had officers Abbie Beckman, Lilli Seto, and Zsa Zsa Beauchene present as well as representatives Maya Salazar, Samaya Martz, Addie Bubonic, Maya Torres, and Abby Mckinley. Ella Gram was present as a spectator.
Committee Updates
The first committee discussion was based on the Pizza Party Committee. They were responsible for making and selling T-shirts today at Quiz and it went very successfully. 23 out of the 25 shirts were sold, including Youth XL and Adult S, M, L, and XL, with Smalls and Mediums selling the fastest. We decided that next time we will also include more youth sizes. We will be doing this again for Games Rally, but others have already made plans to give out free Tetrathlon T-shirts so the youth board will not interfere with that.
The next committee discussion was about the Networking Committee. The Instagram page has been going well with a decent number of posts. Facebook is still needing more posts, so we reestablished who has access to the page. A YouTube channel has been created to provide a place for videos such as Careers Committee interviews to be easily accessed.
The next committee discussion was the Equine Careers Committee. The first interview has been done, edited, and posted on YouTube and Instagram. More interviews will happen as committee members are able to do them.
As for the Test Prep Committee, C1 and HB preps are still in the planning stages. We will be having multiple online preps for C1, covering a different topic or two each time.
Defender KY 3 Day Event
Next we discussed Defender KY 3 Day Event. We decided that the signing by DKY3DE riders would not exclusively be for Pony Club Alumni, but any rider that wanted to sign the items. Lilli S will be getting a Pony Club saddle pat and hat, while Abby M will be getting a Defender hat to be signed. We will raffle these items at the Pizza Party at Mega Rally this year in June. On the Sunday of the Grand Prix we will be having a get-together for any board representatives and officers that are available and would like to come.
Mini Rally Videos
The next agenda item discussed was Mini Rally Videos. These are zoom sessions where competitors who will be participating in their first rally can learn from the experience of MSYB members. The topics for each zoom session this year will be Feed/Tack/Stall Set-up, Turnouts, Required Equipment, Safety Checks and Turnbacks, and Vet Box. These five topics will be taught Monday-Friday during the last week of May and the first two weeks of June. Maya T has volunteered to teach Turnouts and Samaya M has volunteered to teach Stall/Tack/Feed set-up. Maya S, Lilli S, Abbie B, Abby M, and Addie B have all volunteered to teach whatever topic is needed.
For Next Meeting
Before the next meeting, we need to create an organized system for signing up to teach the Mini Rally videos, and we need to decide more details about the get-together at Defender like time and location
